I have worked on several iXpand iterations and currently have premium and low-cost products on the market. The premium version is die-cast zinc and is great for fidgeting. The mid-tier device leverages has a sheet metal core to increase its value. The caps can be placed on either end and the transparency makes it easy to see which end is covered.
The designs below were among the final contenders.
